MATT CARTIER

Matt Cartier brings over two decades of experience in education leadership, instructional design, and school development. Before relocating to Colorado, Matt began his career in California, teaching at Los Coyotes Middle School in La Mirada in 1998. He later joined Pathway School as Assistant Principal in 2004, where he played a key role in launching the school’s middle school program. From 2007 to 2009, he served as a full-time teacher at Santa Fe Christian School.

In Colorado, Matt's leadership journey continued at Valor Christian High School, where he joined in 2009 as a history teacher and assistant boys golf coach. He was promoted in 2012 to Dean of Academic Development and Online Principal, a role he held until 2018. He later served as Head of School at Cherry Hills Christian School, and from 2020 to 2022, he was the Founding Head of School for Colorado Christian Academy.

As Chief Innovation Officer of KOSON/STEM Schools, Matt is responsible for driving the organization’s strategic vision, overseeing school replication efforts, strengthening stakeholder relationships, securing philanthropic support, and ensuring network-wide accountability. He works closely with the KOSON/STEM Board of Directors to implement key initiatives and achieve established performance benchmarks.

In his role, Matt also serves as a key ambassador for the KOSON Schools Network—representing and advocating for the organization with authorizing bodies, school districts, state and local government agencies, and community and business partners.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Science with a minor in Biblical and Theological Studies from Biola University (1998) and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Biola University (2005).
