DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION

Michelle Gasser is entering her ninth year at STEM School Highlands Ranch, where she has served in a variety of roles including fourth-grade teacher, Instructional Coach, Fourth Grade Logistics Leader, and currently, Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Walden University and is a National Board Certified Teacher in Elementary Education. Michelle is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.

Born in Wiesbaden, Germany and raised in Florida, Michelle initially explored studies in Broadcast Communications and Accounting before discovering her true passion: education. Encouraged by her husband, she completed her degree and began her teaching career as a first-grade teacher, later moving to fifth grade. After relocating to Colorado, she taught fourth grade and also served as a Gifted Coordinator. During this time, Michelle worked closely with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) to develop STEM-integrated curriculum and support Title I schools in implementing STEM practices. Her passion for STEM education led her to transition both her career and her children to STEM School Highlands Ranch, where she continues to advocate for innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.

Outside of school, Michelle enjoys spending time with her two children, skiing, traveling, and staying active through fitness.
