Building The Future
Our Vision For Stem
The 2024-2028 Strategic Plan outlines our vision for the future and the steps we will take to achieve our goals. Over the next four years, we will focus on clearly defining our identity, optimizing the student experience, and ensuring sustainable growth.

Strategic Plan
The 2024-2028 Strategic Plan for STEM School was developed under the leadership of Chief Innovation Officer Matt Cartier and Executive Director LynAnn Kovalesky in partnership with Bellwether Consulting. Bellwether, a nonprofit organization that collaborates with education leaders to accelerate their impact and drive innovation, played a key role in shaping this vision for our school’s future. This comprehensive plan has been carefully reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors, setting the course for STEM School’s continued growth and success.
STRATEGIC PLAN
To achieve our goals, we will focus on three areas, starting from the inside out

Strategic Plan
Our Focus Areas

Focus Area 1: Identity
Clarifying & Communicating Who We Are
We believe our identity is at the core of what makes our school special, and it’s critical we share this clearly with current and prospective students, families, and staff. By codifying our culture and values, we can ensure that everyone in our community understands and embraces our vision.
COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING
We will refine and articulate our school’s identity, ensuring our message reaches the right audiences.
KNOWLEDGE MANAGMENT
By documenting key operational systems, we will create a sustainable, transparent infrastructure that supports all facets of our school.
Focus Area 2: STEM Experience
Optimizing the Experience for Students, Staff, & Parents
Our goal is to create a world-class experience for every member of the STEM community, including students, staff, and parents, empowering them to reach their full potential and make a lasting impact on the world.
FOR STUDENTS
We will enhance our program model to align with the diverse interests and goals of our students, ensuring they are prepared for success.
FOR STAFF
By fostering a culture of inclusivity and continuous improvement, we will support our educators in delivering the best possible learning experiences.
FOR PARENTS
Strengthening communication and support for parents will be key to building a positive and collaborative partnership between families and the school.

Focus Area 3: Preparing for Growth
As we look to the future, we are planning for growth to expand the reach of our STEM education to more students and families in the Denver area. This will require careful planning and investment in key areas such as governance, talent acquisition, and facilities management to ensure that we can continue to provide high-quality education as we grow.
LONG-TERM PLANNING
We will develop detailed strategic plans that align with our long-term goals, setting measurable performance indicators to track progress.
NETWORK MODEL & GOVERNANCE
Establishing a clear network model and governance structure will ensure our school can manage growth effectively, providing leadership and support as we expand.
A Vision for the Future
Our strategic plan is designed to position STEM School Highlands Ranch as a leader in STEM education, not just in the Denver area but beyond. By focusing on defining our identity, optimizing the STEM experience, and preparing for growth, we are ensuring that we remain at the forefront of innovative education.
Our long-term vision is to broaden access to STEM education and contribute to a more prosperous society through the power of learning.
