OVERVIEW

STEM School Highlands Ranch is committed to maintaining an educational environment free from sex-based discrimination, including sexual harassment, in accordance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.

Title IX protects students, employees, and all participants in school programs and activities from discrimination based on sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or related conditions.

NON-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT

STEM School Highlands Ranch does not discriminate on the basis of sex in any of its education programs or activities, including admissions and employment.

Any questions regarding Title IX may be referred to the school’s Title IX Coordinator or to the Office for Civil Rights.

Prohibited Conduct Under Title IX

Title IX prohibits sex-based discrimination and sexual harassment, including:

  • Sexual harassment (quid pro quo or hostile environment)
  • Sexual assault
  • Dating violence
  • Domestic violence
  • Stalking
  • Discrimination based on sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation

Scope of Title IX

Title IX applies to conduct that occurs:

  • On school property
  • During school-sponsored activities
  • Off campus if it affects access to education
  • Online or digital environments connected to the school
