STEM School Highlands Ranch has some of the top-achieving students in Colorado, and they deserve a high school experience that matches their drive and potential. Right now, they're learning in a building that wasn't made for them and lack the labs, technology, and space they need to reach their full potential.

That's why we are proposing to relocate our high school to a purpose-driven, state-of-the-art facility in Littleton - just minutes from our current campus - to create more room for innovation, stronger support for student wellness, and more opportunities for real-world learning and career readiness.

This relocation is part of our master plan which will also open up learning spaces at our current campus for all K-8 students.

Where is the new location?

The proposed high school relocation is located at 1101 W. Mineral Avenue, Littleton, CO 80120, which is the existing office building and would serve as the primary facility for the high school. The adjacent property to the north at 1151 W. Mineral Avenue, Littleton, CO 80120 has already been purchased and may be developed to support the campus with additional amenities such as a field house, gymnasium, auditorium, expanded parking, or other student-focused facilities.

Please note that this is an active place of business. Families are welcome to drive by and view the exterior of the campus and begin imagining what is possible for our students, but please do not go inside.

WHEN WILL THE NEW LOCATION OPEN?

What about middle school students who take high school classes?

We recognize that this is a key feature of STEM and we are working on a schedule that will continue to allow students to take high school classes in middle school. Some options may include:

offering highly registered high school classes on the middle school campus
a shuttle
a strategic schedule
digitally synced classes that allow students to patch in from one campus to the other.

How will you handle drop off and pick up times when families have students at both campuses?

What about the calendar? Will both campuses have the same annual calendar?

WILL WE STILL OPERATE AS A CHARTER SCHOOL?

Yes, we will continue to operate as a public charter school. Our current K–12 charter is authorized by Douglas County School District, and that will remain in place for our K–8 program. We are exploring a district change for the high school only because the facility that best meets our needs is located in Littleton. While the high school would seek authorization through Littleton Public Schools, our mission, educational model, governance, and commitment to students and families will remain the same.
