CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
STEM School Highlands Ranch Homeschool Enrichment engages students in hands-on, problem-based learning that brings Science, Engineering, Computer Science, and Robotics to life. Learners build, create, code, and experiment as they solve real-world problems and explore how STEM connects to their everyday experiences. Students develop critical skills in creativity, communication, and innovation—hallmarks of the STEM learning experience.
Program Highlights
- Science & Engineering: Students investigate phenomena, conduct experiments, and engage in the engineering design process to create solutions to real-world problems. Projects scale in complexity by grade level—from exploring ecosystems and simple machines to designing renewable energy models and testing prototypes.
- Computer Science & Robotics: Learners develop computational thinking and coding skills through platforms such as block-based programming, microcontrollers, and robotics kits. Students progress from basic coding logic in early grades to advanced programming, automation, and AI concepts in middle school.
CURRICULUM OVERVIEW BY GRADE
STEM'S Homeschool Enrichment offers a rich, vertically aligned Computer Science & Robotics and Science & Engineering curriculum designed to immerse students in hands-on, real-world learning. Across grades K–8, students engage in authentic challenges such as designing robotic systems, exploring environmental science, engineering sustainable solutions, programming interactive games, and applying scientific principles to real problems in their community. Units integrate coding, robotics, engineering design, scientific investigation, and emerging technologies like AI and physical computing, allowing students to build deep understanding while developing creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. The full curriculum outline showcases the progression of learning experiences and the meaningful, inquiry-based work students complete at every grade level.

WORK AND ASSIGNMENTS
All learning and project work take place during class time, allowing students to fully engage in hands-on exploration and collaboration with peers. To extend learning at home, resources and optional enrichment activities will be provided to support parents who wish to reinforce concepts or continue projects independently.
This enrichment program is designed to foster creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving—not to assign grades. Instead of traditional grading, students will receive feedback, reflection opportunities, and celebration of growth as they progress through their STEM learning journey.
FIELD TRIPS
Each quarter students will participate in a field trip as one of their classes. Parents are asked to drive or find rides for their student(s)
showcase
Each quarter students will have the opportunity to present to their parents and other classmates about the problem they worked on. This is a great way for students to solidify what they learned through the process while also building presentation skills and personal confidence.
