Next week, two parent meetings will be held at STEM School. These sessions will offer practical information on how to identify signs of adjustment difficulties in children that may be seen after a crisis or loss, such as the tragedy we experienced on May 7th, as well as strategies for parents, family members and school professionals to use to provide support and assistance to promote recovery. David J Schonfeld, MD, developmental-behavioral pediatrician and Director of the National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement (www.schoolcrisiscenter.org) will provide a presentation and answer questions. We welcome the opportunity to learn from our families and hear their suggestions about best ways the school and community can provide continued support and address any ongoing needs. Please attend one of the three sessions.
