Creative Writing Class Visited by Local Author

On April 3, local Colorado author Zachary Tyler Linville visited Mrs. Christian's high school Creative Writing class to read from his book, Welcome to Deadland, and do a Q&A and book signing with students.

Linville is a winner of the Nerdist Sci-Fi and Fantasy Novel Contest. After receiving a degree in film from The University of Central Florida, Zachary went on to work as a costume assistant for TV shows and movies, including Boardwalk Empire. He currently lives and writes in Parker.

Students were able to ask him questions about his craft, the business side of writing, and challenges he has faced as an author. Having visiting authors and poets each semester in Creative Writing is one way that students get exposed to the art of writing in a real-world setting and gain insight into how they can, themselves, get published.
