Hello, My name is Jenny Johnson. This is my 6th year teaching at STEM School Highlands Ranch. I am excited and thankful to have found this learning community to pursue my passion for teaching and to be able to utilize my engineering career experience to help students prepare to succeed in their careers.
I am a Colorado native, born and raised in the Broomfield area. After high school I moved to Rapid City, South Dakota and attended South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. I thoroughly enjoyed school and all the leadership opportunities available at SDSM&T and am proud to call myself a Hardrocker!
I pursued a career in Production Management with Cargill, Inc following college. I earned many opportunities for traveling and leadership experiences within the Grain and Oilseed Supply Chain of Cargill. I have experience as a Production Supervisor and Manager in a multi-vegetable oil refinery and a biodiesel manufacturing facility. After several years away from our families, my husband, Wade, was offered a position with his engineering firm here in the Denver area and we just couldn't pass it up. We love living in Castle Rock and staying busy with our twin three year olds!
Although having taught science here at the STEM School Highlands Ranch, I have truly found my passion in mathematics. I enjoy being a part of the 6th grade pod team as well and help 6th grade students successfully transition from elementary to middle school. I'm excited for a new opportunity this year as an Instructional Coach working with STEM School staff. I have a passion for collaborating and working with teams to support growth among teachers and student learning. Outside the classroom, I love to spend time with my family and friends, exploring the outdoors, traveling, and shopping.
