Welcome to 5th Grade!
This will be my second year here at STEM. I am excited to explore another year with my students. We had fun learning and building together last year. 5th grade is an important year to learn independence and self-advocacy preparing them for middle school. I have always been a hands-on learner exploring the world around me and love sharing this passion with my students. I was the one in 5th grade asking "why" and I encourage every student to explore their passion and fuel their curiosity.
I was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin but was raised in Minnesota. I studied Elementary and Special Education at the University of Minnesota Duluth. I have two sisters and a brother who I have adventured with my entire life. As a family we used to go camping almost every weekend in the summer and continue to go on family trips as often as possible. Being outside has continued to be apart of my life and is generally what I do any chance I get. During vacation and on the weekends you can find me outside rock climbing, camping, hiking or trying new things (This summer I kayaked to an Island where I camped for the night). The outdoors is such an important piece of me that my current life goal is to camp in all 50 states. I have been fortunate enough to already check off 22 states, including Alaska, in the last five years.
I am excited for another innovative year with STEM!
