I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University. My practice has included working in rehabilitation, acute care, hand therapy, home health therapy and pediatrics. I have enjoyed working as a school Occupational Therapist for Douglas County since 2007 and have been at STEM School Highlands Ranch since its inaugural year.
As an Occupational Therapist with Douglas County Schools, I am passionate about working with students with regard to their physical motor skills, visual perceptual skills and sensory needs. I am inspired by brain integration theories and enjoy incorporating these into use whenever possible. STEM's innovative learning philosophy is well-aligned with my practice as an OT and I incorporate this philosophy into use whenever possible. I have worked in conjunction with the Manufacturing classes at STEM to have students design and build T stools and rocker boards for use in the classroom.
