Hi, my name is Kristin Rizzatti. I received two bachelor’s degrees in finance and marketing information systems from James Madison University in Virginia where I received a scholarship for being an entrepreneurial marketing student. Following college, I worked in the health field as a sales consultant for several years.
I moved to Hawaii and continued my interest in science by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Secondary Science Education from University of Phoenix. While in Hawaii, I spent several years teaching life, earth, space, and marine sciences to both middle school and high school students. During this time, I took students to Hawai’i Volcano National Park and Mauna Kea, the site of numerous international telescopes, to immerse them in Earth and Space Sciences. I also helped the school design a STEM building and, as a member of a district-wide team, implemented an aquaponics design-thinking project across multiple schools in the area.
Since I moved to Colorado, I became AP Biology certified and continue to take biology-related courses to hone my knowledge and skillset. For fun I enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking, surfing, and skiing. I also enjoy travel and cooking all different types of cuisine with my family.
