Summer at STEM

Join us at STEM for unique and fun learning opportunities for your student during the summer months! Our summer camps are open to STEM and non-STEM students. Please contact Sara.Phelps@stemk12.org with questions.

Camp Invention (Kinder - 6th Grade)June 4th - 8th, 2018
Camp Invention is one week in the summer where your child’s creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills are challenged and developed in fun and exciting ways. Our top priority is to inspire future innovators and build their confidence in the natural ability to dream and create.

An exciting opportunity to perform in a production! Morning technique classes in dance, acting, and voice are followed by afternoon rehearsals. Students will create sets and costumes for our end of session performance on Friday. This summer’s performance is the Lion King! This camp is run by Mountain School of Music & Dance, who run the Elementary Ballet and Yoga programs during the school year.

Summer Drama Camp (Middle/High)June 11th - 15th, 2018
The class will provide basic knowledge of acting techniques and stage movement to develop your child’s imagination, creativity and confidence. Every day, campers rotate through core classes in voice, acting, and dance, along with an exciting array of workshops, including sketch comedy, stage crafts, and more! Students will develop an acting process that will allow them to feel confident in their creation of a role onstage. Students will be performing their very own "Mixed-Up Fairy Tales" Friday at 2 PM. Led by STEM's Mrs. Amber Walter.

This is a summer camp for beginner students interested in robotics! Students will learn the basics of motors, sensors, designing virtual robots out of Lego Digital Designer, and programming using EV3 software. They will also have fun challenges such as weight lifting, gearing, and much more!

Students in this camp will go deeper into programming and advanced building techniques from building a robot arm, making drawings, and building a tank robot.

This summer camp is a chance for students to create robots with the Tetrix robotics kit, program in Blocky, and practice basic CAD design. They will learn about controllers, motors, servos, and sensors. At the end of the week, students will do a fun maze and drag racer challenge.

Cyber Boot Camp (grades 2nd-8th)June 4th - 8th, 2018
This five-day technical camp is designed to excite students about cybersecurity. Students will learn skills through hand-on-instructions and fun activities in a well equipped computer training classroom. Led by STEM's own Mrs. Simi Basu.
